九歲的Ylva即將展開她的寒假「打工」之旅。在挪威最大城奧斯陸長大的她，來到了北部的厄克斯內斯，這裡不僅盛產挪威傳統美食「鱈魚舌」，更保留著古老的漁村文化。原來，挪威人必須從年幼時就開始練習成為一位全能的漁夫，而割下魚舌正是孩子們學習的第一步。Ylva與年紀相仿的Tobias成為了好夥伴，在全片明快的節奏以及兩人的童言童語中，人人稱羨的北歐生活背後，龐大的公債隱憂也逐漸浮現。

Far up in northern Norway, in the cod-fishing community of Øksnes, there are children as young as 5 who work as codfish tongue cutters. Tongue cutting is an old tradition which is still important today to recruit future fishermen in Norway. The film tells the story of a 9-year-old city girl, Ylva, who spends her winter holiday in a seaside town, and meet Tobias, an 11-year-old, experienced tongue cutter. Now it’s time for Ylva to give tongue cutting a try!
